Love Language πŸ’›

I first heard this term "Love Language" from my very good friend, Rakhpreet many many many years ago when she was nagging me about my love life. Well, what are friends for if your relationship problem isn't theirs? 😏  So, what is Love Language actually??? It refers to the way in which individuals express and receive love. No one speaks about it but it is so vital in any kind of relationship. I wish someone had taught me this when I was younger...It's okay, never too late to learn new stuff.    As you can see, there are 5 types of Love Languages. Words of Affirmation is a love language that involved verbal compliments such as "I am grateful for you". Where else,  Quality Time involves spending time with your loved one, engaging in activities together - Netflix & Chill . A person who has Gift Giving as their love language feels most loved when their partner gives them tangible items.  Acts of Service  involve doing things for your loved one, like cooki

If You're Happy And You Know It, Clap Your Hands!

Did you clap after reading that? No? Why not? Aren't you happy? That's how it is these days uh? The older we get, we seem to be less happier or less expressive. Remember when we were just kids, anything and everything made us happy. We would laugh out loud at the most silliest thing. These days, all we do is stare at our phone screens and go "Hahahaha", "πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚" or "LOL" without actually laughing. I am equally guilty of doing that.

Maybe after a certain age, it may seem harder to enjoy the little things with the rising responsibilities especially during our late 20's till maybe our late 30's. And then we grow really old and start laughing and cracking "Dad Jokes". But do you really want to waste all those years not being able to take a moment and enjoy life as it is?

I just thought of sharing my recent MCO 2.0 experience with my 3 year old niece who was effortlessly amused with life's little pleasures. She would simply be happy, she greets everyone with a big smile, always laughing away, self-entertained, so easily tickled, and you know what? Once when her Ammama pretended to cry, she said "Be Happy, Ammama!" All these reminded me of a quote by a Sadhguru that I read some time back, "If a child enters your life, it is time to relearn the life you have forgotten. That a child can laugh without a reason, that he/she can jump around for no reason, that he/she can become an exuberant burst of aliveness - that's life!"

Yes, that's life! Of course there will be bad times - health problems, job losses, set backs, break ups, sometimes you'll need to pick yourself up and dust yourself off, sometimes you'll need help (maybe even professional help) to get things back on track. But despite some bad months or years, life will keep getting better! And it is definitely much better when you are expressing joy instead or pursuing it! This serves as a reminder to me and you (if applicable) to always be joyful and not waste anymore years of our lives being miserable!

So, let's do this again. If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands! You still didn't clap!! You lazy fellows! That's okay, just be happy ok!
Thank you Anna Kutty for the beautiful reminder!
